Resumen : This article shows a polycentric vision of the structural components of the environment under the object-oriented (O-O) approach. To create the data model, guidelines of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) which is broadly used nowdays to design systems under the O-O perspective are followed. Being based on the concept of the Environmental Set, seen it as a holography of physic - chemist, biotic and social-cultural factors, a first diagram conforming class categories or information packages is produced. Following an abstraction process and supported on the Conceptual Logical Operative Model of the Environment (CLOMA) this diagram is refined and complemented to get a model that describes the classes (features and objects) and their relations, which can be implemented using a geotechnological tool. The visualization of the environmental polycentric model ccording to an approach to develop computer systems is shown to give the user guidelines for modeling the real world. Both the environmental polycentrism and the CLOMA are works produced by researchers of the Center of Integral Studies of the Environment (CENAMB-UCV).
