Resumen
Introduction: This systematic review analyzed data on intimate partner violence in the LGBTIQ+ community, focusing on prevalence, risk factors, and consequences. Method: Forty-seven studies were identified that highlighted the prevalence and characteristics of violence in LGBTIQ+ relationships, especially the vulnerability of lesbian and bisexual women. Results: Risk factors such as substance use, adverse family environments, discrimination, and sexual orientation-related stress were identified. Conclusions: There was a tendency to minimize and deny intimate partner violence within the LGBTIQ+ community due to multiple factors such as self-esteem, economic stability, and dependency, among others.
