GEOGRAFÍA DE LAS DESIGUALDADES TERRITORIALES SOCIO-ECONÓMICAS Y SOCIO-AMBIENTALES

Resumen

Analizar la geografía, su abordaje de las desigualdades territoriales, la revelación de las desigualdades territoriales, socioeconómicas y socioambientales, y cómo inciden en la estructuración del territorio, es el propósito del presente
trabajo. Se hace una aproximación al estudio de las desigualdades territoriales en el pensamiento geográfi co, desde la geografía en la Grecia Antigua, hasta las geografías
postmodernas. Se afi rma que, al abordaje clásico de la desigualdad territorial desde una perspectiva socioeconómica en el territorio mundial, se le agregan nuevas visiones de manifestación de las desigualdades territoriales, como es el caso de la desigualdad socioambiental, entre otras, y su explicación es incompleta si no se complementa su análisis con el rol que tiene el capital institucional en la gestación
de las desigualdades territoriales. Se concluye que las desigualdades territoriales socioeconómicas y socioambientales son una de las características inmanentes del territorio mundial y, su magnitud y extensión se han acrecentado con la incidencia de la globalización que también es desigual.

ABSTRACT
To analyze geography, the territorial inequalities addressing, the revelation of the socio-economic and socio-environmental inequalities, and how they affect the territory structuring, are the purposes of this paper. It is an approach to the study
of territorial inequalities in the geographic thought from geography in Ancient Greece to the postmodern geography. It is stated that to the classical approach of territorial inequality from a socioeconomic perspective on the world's territory,
it can be added new manifestation insights as it is the case of socio-economic and socio-environmental inequality among others, and its explanation becomesincomplete if the analysis is not complemented with the role the institutional
capital plays in the territorial inequalities gestation and likewise, with a review of the phenomena that explains and justifi es the global spatial relations functionality,
such as territorial inequalities. It is concluded that the socio-economic and socioenviromental inequalities are some of the inherent features of world territory, its scale and range which have been increased with the uneven impact of globalization.
